Why Arizona State University - Lake Havasu
Academics: Arizona State University created ASU@Lake Havasu in 2012 to bring ASU’s innovative approach to higher education to a location as yet unserved by the state university system. Students choose from four-year undergraduate degrees in high-demand career fields including technology, psychology, health and environmental sciences, criminal justice, organizational leadership and political science. The degrees are designed with the same focus on experiential, purpose-based research as those on ASU’s metropolitan campuses, drawing on the vast resources of the top-tier research university. Yet students at Lake Havasu pay lower tuition for equivalent degrees and experience a low student-to-faculty ratio. The college grounds, which include new residential accommodations and a fitness center, are fewer than two miles from the shore, providing scenic views of the charming town and its namesake landmark. Lake Havasu City is a close-knit community that welcomes the involvement of the colleges’ students in civic activities and projects.
