Students who qualify under the Skilled Labour Category are eligible to apply for a one-year open work visa. Spouse or dependent of such students who have accompanied can also apply for a work permit during the duration of their partner's course.
International students who have qualified for skilled worker's program post the completion of their studies and who have concrete job offer, can apply for a two year work permit and can also plan to apply for Permanent Residency. Also, if a professional has obtained New Zealand credentials, the requirements for a two-year work experience is waived off.

- An admission offer letter from a university or institution in New Zealand that outlines the minimum course duration, the tuition fee applicable and so on. The course should also be approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
- An Offer of Place from a New Zealand Qualification Authority-approved education provider.
- Evidence of sufficient funds to travel back to your home country.
- Two Passport-size photographs
- Receipt of the payment of tuition fees.
- Academic qualifications and records such as degrees, diplomas or certificates.
Some additional documents may be required as an evidence to confirm your eligibility to travel and study in New Zealand. Some of these documents are:
- Bank Statements.
- Certificates for scholarship programmes, if applicable.
- An undertaking from sponsor affirming that they will take care of your accommodation and living costs while you stay in New Zealand.
- Health Insurance
