Description
The Practical Nurse Diploma program at Red Deer College prepares students to be an integral part of the health care system, providing high-quality nursing care across the lifespan. Graduates are highly sought after and find employment in hospitals, continuing care agencies, community settings and other health-related areas. Upon successful completion of the Practical Nurse Diploma program and the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE), graduates are eligible for licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
This program delivered over two academic years prepares the graduate to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) following graduation and successful completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam. As a LPN, the graduate will provide nursing care in a variety of health care settings, such as hospitals, the community and other health care agencies.

English Proficiency Requirements: For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
NOTE: Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter. For conditional admission, instead of submitting language proficiency test scores, applicant may complete English courses prior to the academic program. The length of the English course is determined based on the applicant's level of English proficiency. |
