About us

Founded in 1743 and chartered by the state in 1833, the University of Delaware today is a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant university. As one of the oldest universities in the U.S., the University of Delaware has grown to become a significant state-assisted, privately governed establishment. With over 25,000 total students, the University of Delaware offers 150 majors to undergraduate students, with the strongest majors being engineering, business, and the sciences.
