About us

Founded in 1868, Oregon State is an international public research university located in Corvallis, one of the safest, smartest, greenest small cities in the nation. Oregon State accounts for more research funding than all of the state’s comprehensive public universities combined. With 11 colleges, 15 Agricultural Experiment Stations, 35 county Extension offices, the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport and OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon State has a presence in every one of Oregon’s 36 counties.

They can use their meal plan in any of the 30+ different cafés and restaurants on campus. Need to unwind? Students can exercise in the campus gym, swim in the 23-meter pool or climb the 13-meter climbing wall. They'll find a lot of resources to help them with their studies. The library is open 24 hours during the week and tutors are available to help them with their various assignments in the Center for Academic Support. The OSU campus has everything to make the most of their experience.

  • Culture: Ranked as one of the smartest towns in the US, Corvallis residents love culture. Artistically inclined? Students can visit the Arts Center featuring local and regional artists. Interested in history? Visit the Benton County Historical Museum to learn about the history of Corvallis. Love performances? The Majestic Theater or Whiteside Theater located downtown Corvallis regularly host concerts and shows.

  • Research: OSU is one of only two universities in the US to have Land, Sea, Space and Sun Grant designations. Thus, OSU is involved with world-changing research in all four areas.
