King's College

133 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA | Private University | Established 1946

About us

King's College is rooted in the Holy Cross tradition, which recognizes education as an art, not a mechanical process. Classes are taught by professors, not teaching assistants, who have earned the highest degrees in their fields and bring years of real-world experience to the classroom. Our faculty considers teaching to be their priority and constantly hone their skills at the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) in order to help students reach their potential.

Recognizing that every student learns differently, we use an engaged mentorship approach, where professors get to know you well enough to understand how you learn. They'll not only recognize you by name, but make themselves available to help - whether it's during scheduled office hours, through e-mail or even over coffee. This is possible because we have a favorable 12:1 student/faculty ratio that's conducive to discussion and interactive learning.

Labs and classes average only 18 students, giving you easy access to state-of-the-art facilities and technology that rivals top research institutions. You may engage in one-on-one research projects with faculty members in the sciences, work directly with humanities professors to improve your writing skills, or design a robotic project with the chair of the engineering department. For exceptional students, we offer a highly selective Honors Program in which they receive an individualized education matched to their specific career goals.
