The University of Tasmania’s main Launceston campus is located in the suburb of Newnham, a short drive or bike ride from Launceston’s city centre and overlooks the Tamar River. It is serviced by regular public transport and is close to local shopping centres. The Newnham campus is home to the Australian Maritime College, Australia’s national centre for maritime education and training, which is renowned for its world-class teaching and research facilities. The Inveresk campus is located adjacent to the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at the cultural precinct at Inveresk near Launceston’s inner city. The campus is home to the School of Creative Arts and Media and the renowned School of Technology, Environments and Design.
