Description

The BA in French with a secondary English teacher license prepares students to become teachers who will expand students' world views, language development, interpretation skills and creative thinking.

Do you love speaking and reading French? Are you interested in opening up the world of French language and culture to K-12 students? If so, you would make an excellent French teacher. In this four-year, 120 credit hour undergraduate BA program, you will learn to plan assessment-informed instruction for educational excellence and equity for all children including those from diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, class and ability backgrounds.

At CU Denver, preparing French teachers is a highly collaborative process between the French department in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the School of Education & Human Development. This program offers real life experience with secondary schools in Denver Metro area school districts.

In this teacher education program, you will learn from nationally and internationally recognized faculty members who are known for innovation and research in literacy, language, social and emotional growth and building a diverse teacher workforce. Through the French department, you will garner the essential content and education theory needed to be an effective French teacher. In our school district partnerships, you will "live the life of a teacher," becoming a vital member of the teaching staff as a teacher candidate.
