Description

The BA in Education and Human Development with Early Childhood Education licensure prepares students to work in inclusive and diverse early learning environments with young children (infancy through age eight.) CU Denver offers scholarships and vast learning and development opportunities to support early childhood future teachers.

Are you passionate about working with young children, infants through 8 years old, and their families and communities during this critically time in a human’s life? If so, the University of Colorado Denver’s four-year, 126-credit hour undergraduate Early Childhood Education program which leads to Colorado teacher licensure might be the right program for you. We prepare highly competent early childhood education professionals who are known for embracing the whole child in inclusive, culturally and linguistically diverse public school or community-based early childhood education settings. With this licensure, you will be eligible to teach in pre-K through grade three classrooms in the public schools or in infants through five year old community child care programs. Our program emphasizes family-centered practices, culturally sustaining teaching and is inspired by the potential of all children and families.

Some of students enter our BA program as freshman; others bring an associate degree from a community college which can articulate into our BA. Still others will bring professional development experiences that can sometimes be assessed for credit. Our experienced advisors can help figure out the right pathway for you.
