Troy University’s general counseling master’s program is designed to train social service providers and is tailored to meet needs of individuals interested in providing social services in settings that do not require licensure. Led by skilled faculty members with real-world experience, you’ll learn about the theory and application of counseling skills needed in order to provide general counseling services. In fact, many of our faculty members are still actively practicing in the field of counseling and can provide you with first-hand knowledge, advice and mentorship as you prepare to expand your career. This 36-semester-hour program allows you opportunitites to learn new skills within the classroom and gives you the chance to put those newly learned skills into action during the program’s practicum course. By completing 100 hours of field experience before earning your degree, you’ll be given invaluable and skill-building opportunities
