Description

The Social Sciences refers to the various disciplines that analyze society and the world.  At Troy University, there are four core disciplines included in our Social Science Major and Minor: Anthropology, Geography, Social Science Education, and Sociology.

However, you can also take classes in other Social Sciences while at Troy in areas like: Economics, History, Political Science and Psychology.

Studying the Social Sciences uniquely prepares you for the 21st century by using the latest research methods to address today’s social problems in this increasingly multicultural and digitized era. We offer professional training in analytical softwares, such SPSS and GIS, as well as provide multiple hands-on research opportunities (i.e., archaeological digs, focus group research in the community, and evaluation research of community projects).
