Description

The purpose of the undergraduate music major within the School of Music is to provide educational experiences that will assist students in developing the musical skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to pursue a viable career in the music profession. Each of the three possible tracks-specializations- provides courses to assist students in developing specialized skills, knowledge, and techniques in choral music, instrumental music, or a selected area within the music industry. The School of Music works in collaboration with the College of Education to provide experiences leading to music teacher certification in Alabama, and supports the University NCATE conceptual framework to develop innovative, informed, reflective decision makers.
