Duration | 48 Months |
Level | Bachelors courses |
In 2015, TROY partnered with Thomas Goode Jones and Cumberland schools of law to become the only college in the state of Alabama to offer its students a way to complete their bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees within six years. Now, the Mississippi College of Law is a partner, as well.
This is how it works. If students have aspirations to pursue a career in law, they will become a part of TROY’s College of Arts and Sciences where they will begin their academic journey pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a minor in legal studies. In their junior year—upon the careful consideration of your GPA and LSAT scores—students will have the opportunity to apply to law school at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery and Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham. Programs are highly selective, and once chosen by one of the schools, students will begin your legal studies there.
After their first year of law school, students' GPA at Jones or Cumberland will be evaluated, and if there are no objections, they will receive your bachelor’s degree from TROY as if they'd been attending our classes throughout their senior year. At this point, only two years of law school remain before they sit for the Alabama State Bar exam. Now, that’s a deal, and it can only be found at TROY.
