In this concentration, students will complete a combination of accounting and finance courses related to financial reporting, financial management, cost accounting and cost management in the global economy. This concentration will expose students to financial reporting issues faced by managers, including preparing, understanding and analyzing financial reports. Students will gain an understanding of the uses of financial data by financial analysts, credit analysts and other users of financial information. An advanced analysis of managerial finance concepts related to key financial decisions of the firm is included in the concentration topics. The concentration provides students an opportunity to study an in depth analysis of advanced cost accounting issues from the viewpoint of management, including cost management systems, target costing, life cycle costing, and measures of performance. Finally, students will gain an understanding of financial analysis as it relates to investments, including markets, institutions, and instruments with emphasis on security analysis, portfolio analysis, and financial planning
