The School of Public Affairs offers a concentration in criminology as part of the BS in public service and public policy. Criminology continues to be a highly sought-after area and it presents broad policy implications for future public sector professionals. The concentration program introduces students to the fundamental foundations in criminal justice and criminology by preparing them to think critically, contribute to society and enhance public safety.

The program is primarily focused on individuals working or interested in working in the public sector. The skills and knowledge students acquire will allow them to successfully function in many types of organizations, though the primary focus is on public organizations. A bachelor's degree program in public service and public policy prepares students for entry- and mid-level supervisory and managerial positions in city, county, state and federal agencies. For those who already have work experience, the degree provides further opportunity for promotion.
