Study of structure and use of language while learning Korean. This four-year degree includes a year in Korea after your second year of study. You'll learn communicative Korean skills and a deep understanding of Korean culture. If you want to choose from a range of English language and linguistics modules, this course will suit you. Investigate how we convey meaning and how language can vary according to speaker and situation.

You don't need prior experience in Korean to join this programme. We'll start with a communicative Korean teaching style. This will progress to a content-and-language, integrated approach later in your degree. 

Using the medium of Korean you'll study Korean cultures, communities and societies. In doing this you'll develop a deep understanding of Korean culture and become a confident user of the language. We'll give you the ability to converse in Korean, give presentations and join discussions. You'll be able to read and write in Korean. Gain the skills to communicate for academic, social and professional purposes. 

Immerse yourself in Korean culture and apply what you've learnt in your first two years. Study abroad for a year in Korea. You'll spend your third year in Korea taking language classes at your host university. 

Take your learning further and explore English language and linguistics. You'll study how we articulate speech and the structure of language. Choose from a range of specialist modules such as:
