Description

Supply chain management is a growing global specialist area and an essential function within organisations, involving many aspects from procurement and logistics through to operations and project management.

This program is designed for students with a relevant HND to enter at Year 3 and gain an Honours degree. Students will develop their understanding of the complexity of the internal and external connections of international supply chains and gain the tools, techniques and management abilities required for a successful career. Students will also develop knowledge of the global challenges affecting supply chain process, including economic, legal, financial, strategic and global issues, and their impact on international trade.

Depending on students' previous areas of study they will be able to select option modules including project management and digital business and marketing or choose to study a language.

In addition to specialist knowledge, students will develop their entrepreneurial thinking, their IT skills and the people skills crucial to successfully implementing strategy and change in organisations.

Fashion is an international industry, influencing a growing number of products and services. This distinctive program helps students to develop both traditional and digital skills and expertise in fashion brand development and communication to succeed in this exciting and dynamic industry.

The program explores the key aspects of international fashion branding through both traditional and digital practices. Students will gain a thorough understanding of areas such as brand management and marketing, fashion brand development and promotion, fashion buying and visual merchandising in retail, and sustainable fashion. In year 4, students will gain a strategic view of the fashion industry, with a focus on internationalisation strategy within the context of communication and branding.

Students are supported as they discover and develop their digital skills in an increasingly popular and important part of fashion brand development in the industry, with fashion creation software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Lectra. This provides students with relevant industry skills and allows them to develop a portfolio of creative work across all four years of study.

The department works hard to organise guest lectures from fashion practitioners and industry leaders to talk to students, giving them an invaluable insight into the connection between theory and practice. The department have strong links with a wide range of major fashion companies, including: Cruise, USC, House of Fraser, Reiss, John Lewis, Schuh, Johnstones of Elgin, Eleganza Sposa, Strathberry, M&Co, 18 Montrose, Next, GANT and Cortefiel.
