Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by INTO at the International Study Centre for Queen's University Belfast followed by entry into a university program offered at the Queen's University Belfast. In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business, Humanities and Social Sciences will provide you with the skills and tools necessary for success in an undergraduate degree in a plethora of fields. During your time at Queen's University Belfast, you will study core subjects as well as optional subjects intentionally crafted for your chosen field of study. All of these skills will be key for future academic success at Queen's University Belfast.

Sociology is a scientific discipline concerned with the explanation of social life and human behaviour of all kinds. It equips students with the skills to understand the breadth of social practice, ranging from the global (including power and politics, conflict and peace processes, security, the digital world, climate change, racism and social justice) to individual experiences (such as the body, intimacy, emotions, identity, beliefs and mental health). Through theoretical tools and methodological techniques, Sociology at Queen’s provides students with a unique way of interacting with the world as critical and engaged citizens.
