Description

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Durham University International Study Centre located at Queen's Campus, in Stockton on Tees. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Durham University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the Durham University, Durham City campus in a range of subjects related to science or engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transfer to the BSc - Chemistry program. Students will spend three years developing an understanding of a broad range of modern chemistry covering organic and inorganic synthesis, physical characterization methods, and chemistry at the interfaces with biosciences, engineering and physics. Students will also gain a broad range of practical skills in synthesis, physical measurement and data analysis. In the third year students will have an opportunity to demonstrate the research skills you have developed. Throughout the degree students will develop their chemical understanding, problem-solving and practical skills, whilst learning how to learn. Graduates of this program are well-prepared for Masters level study, work in the chemicals sector, and roles requiring problem-solving and numeracy skills.
