This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Durham University International Study Centre located at Queen's Campus, in Stockton on Tees. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Durham University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the Durham University, Durham City campus in a range of subjects related to the humanities, law or social sciences.

After completing this pathway, students will transfer to the BA in International Relations program. Taught by expert staff, undergraduate education in Politics at Durham is structured around three main streams: Political Thought, Political Institutions, and International Relations. You will move from generalist study in these areas in your early years to more specialised options in International Relations, exploring the diverse and dynamic politics and international relations of the contemporary world. Modules in the second and third years reflect the research expertise of the School’s members of staff.
