Description

Language studies open up new horizons and exciting avenues of cross-cultural communication, creating a wide spectrum of opportunities for graduates. These include careers in international and diplomatic work, government, teaching, missions, translation, business, and many other global opportunities.

At TWU, language instruction is embedded in the context of culture: students gain greater cultural awareness, while acquiring both oral and written skills. Small class sizes and passionate professors allow for an exceptional amount of classroom interaction. Literature courses provide insight into different times and places, examining ideas and works that have impacted the world, while also helping students develop analytical and writing skills. Civilization courses offer a glimpse into societies and cultures that have evolved over time and left an indelible imprint on the world. Through travel studies to Quebec, France, Latin America, and elsewhere, students greatly improve their language skills and experience new and impacting relationships.

With a Major in World Languages and Cultures; minors and concentrations in Spanish and French; and courses in Chinese, Japanese, German, and Russian – this program prepares graduates to transcend barriers and borders and serve the Lord around the globe!
