Description

The Bachelor of Education (BEd) (Secondary) STEM degree prepares students to teach science and mathematics in the context of engineering and technology in secondary school settings. Graduates qualify for a professional teaching certificate from the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB), certifying them to teach science and mathematics subjects in any secondary school setting. Graduates often teach in other provinces or territories in Canada and in other countries.

Upon graduation from the STEM program, you will have two degrees: the bachelor's degree in science or mathematics required for entry into this program and the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) degree.

STEM is a one-year intensive, full-time program that starts in July of one year to the end of June in the following year. The total number of credits for this program is 64. The program includes foundation courses in education, methods courses, and practica.
