NorQuest Bridging to Post-Secondary provides an opportunity to students who need additional English language or academic upgrading courses to fully meet admission requirements for a post-secondary program.

NorQuest Bridging students will:

• Receive a conditional offer of admission to their target post-secondary program and be able to reserve a seat in the target program
• Work closely with an advisor to design a personalized education plan
• Have up to four terms of study to meet the conditions of their admission by completing English as a Second Language (ESL) Intensive or Academic Upgrading courses at NorQuest College
• Be able to take select courses in their post-secondary program prior to full admission
• Take skill development courses to promote academic success.

Students in this stream will bridge into the Indigenous Studies diploma. This new Indigenous Studies diploma is ideal for those interested in a career or future studies in Indigenous relations, governance, education, and culture. The program is designed for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners.

The Indigenous Studies program will help students broaden their understanding of the cultural, historical, social and political experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada. The program will focus first on Treaty 6, then on Treaties 7 and 8, and finally on other Treaties in Canada and on global Indigenous perspectives. The program will allow students to pursue a career that involves leadership in Indigenous communities or organizations that work with Indigenous peoples, begin their post-secondary career at NorQuest College and then transfer to university, or gain broader understanding to support their lifelong learning and professional development in fields such as social work, community support work, or health professions.
