Description

The Performing and Fine Arts (PEFA) Certificate Program offers an academic introduction to arts and cultural topics, with performance options for students interested in pursuing them. This program is ideal for students directly out of high school with an interest in the Performing and Fine Arts, or mature students returning for enrichment or a new career direction. The purpose of the PEFA Certificate is to build citizens who are culturally literate and actively support the arts.

Academic course credits are transferable so that students who discover an interest in music, art history, film studies, theatre history or creative writing for the stage or screen could continue to pursue those disciplines. The certificate is also appropriate as preparation for intensive studies in the Douglas College Theatre, Stagecraft and Music programs.
