The combined BMgt/BEd degree program with education prepares you for teaching in the K–12 school system, and leads to the award of a Bachelor of Management and a Bachelor of Education. With this combined degree, you will be prepared to teach in schools and receive an excellent management education that qualifies you to teach in the Career and Technology Studies (CTS) area. In the education portion of the combined degree, you will practice teaching in schools during three professional semesters. Some typical career paths include CTS teacher, principal, or school administrator.
The combined BMgt/BEd takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees. You will be required to take 16 Management courses, 14 Arts and Science courses and the equivalent of 20 courses in Education.
Bachelor of Management - Human Resource Management and Labour Relations
Human resource management is the study of people at work and the activities associated with recruitment and selection, training and development, retention and occupational health and safety. A key component is organizational behavior, which examines things like leadership, motivation, employee attitudes and productivity.
Labour relations is the study of how employers and employees work together to create a fair workplace.
Human Resource and Labour Relations professionals provide an essential link between employees and management, helping address work-related concerns, developing policies and protecting the rights of both parties. Bachelor of Education - Career and Technology Studies: Business Focus
By blending your Management degree with your passion for teaching and learning, this combined degrees program enables you to apply your Management knowledge and skills to Career and Technology Studies. In this combined degrees program, you will apply the knowledge gained from your subject area while enhancing the skills and methods necessary in the teaching profession.
The five-year combined degree with education prepares students for teaching in the K–12 school system and leads to the award of a Bachelor of Management and a Bachelor of Education (BMgt/BEd). As a general management major, you will have a broad background in all areas of management and maximum flexibility to choose courses that fit your personal and career interests. In addition to the required courses, the major includes six 3000- or 4000-level Management electives.
With this combined degree, students are well prepared to teach in schools and receive an excellent management education that qualifies them to teach in the CTS area.
