If you're interested in a career in journalism, there's no better place to start than BCIT's Broadcast and Online Journalism diploma program. Our journalism faculty is experienced in all aspects of one of the most fascinating and ever-changing fields today. Join us in a program of comprehensive, hands-on training. From day one, you'll be working as a journalist, connecting with professionals in the field, and learning the skills to get you in the door and beyond.
By participating in interactive class lectures and labs, you will learn the expertise you need to begin a new job as a writer, producer, reporter, anchor, video journalist, and more. We train our students to be comfortable with mobile journalism, constantly filing to three media platforms each day (TV, radio, and online), breaking down the walls between traditional newsrooms. That emphasis puts this program on the cutting edge of journalism schools across the country, mirroring the quickly evolving world of news and information.
Our labs include working in the field and in our studios for our radio station, our weekly television program and our website.
