Our Health Care Aide program will provide you with the opportunity to learn knowledge and hands-on skills to assist people to care for themselves and maintain independence. Through a variety of delivery options, you can earn a Bow Valley College/Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Certificate. This program focuses on developing the core skills needed to care for clients in the health care field. Topics include personal care, assisting with mobility and feeding needs, communication, assisting with medication delivery, and clinical skills.
You will learn in a combination of on-campus labs, online or in-class learning, and clinical instruction in continuing care, acute care, and community/home care settings. Clinical shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends.
